The Danilo team, alongside the rest of the UK, are highly excited to see Master bakers Mary Berry & Paul Hollywood and the hilarious presenting duo Mel & Sue returning to our TV screens for the sixth series of The Great British Bake Off.
To celebrate such an occasion, we’ve put together our 5 top reasons on why we love this fantasic programme so much:
Reason 1: Mel and Sue’s hilarious hosting
Comedy Duo Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc keep us chuckling throughout the GBBO series with their funny puns and innuendos. Favourites of ours include “Four Bakers are fighting for their lives… Is that too dramatic?” “It’s never too dramatic. It’s cakes, biscuits and desserts we’re talking about…” “Plus I let a tiger loose in there.” and “Wow, to be commended on your nuts by Mary Berry. You’ve had a great day, Nancy”
Reason 2: The quirky contestants
What we really love about this show are the contestants. Their passion for baking shines through and with sweet (pardon the pun), down-to-earth personalities to match, we can’t help but cheer on all of them!
Reason 3: The mouth-watering, amazing creations
Some of quirky creations the bakers have made over the years have been creatively brilliant. Anyone remember Frances’ ‘vegetable’ canapés or Christine’s Shortbread Bavarian Clock Tower? Yummy and very impressive to look at too!
Reason 4: Paul Hollywood’s Gaze
With those lovely blue eyes, we cannot resist the gaze of this baking woman’s crumpet. Plus we get to spend all next year with Paul gazing lovingly at his official 2016 Calendar. Hooray!
Reason 5: Reminds us of baking together as a family
Ultimately, The Great British Bake Off captures something quintessential about what it is to be British and perhaps even stirs up feelings of nostalgia, reminding us of a time when we baked with our families.
Great British Bake Off starts tonight at 8pm on BBC 1

Danilo are chuffed to announce that our Official Despicable Me Card Range has also been nominated for the Best Licensed Range award at the 2015 Henries Awards. We are up against strong competition such as Disney Frozen from UK Greetings, Laura Meare from Hallmark and MODA from The Great British Card Company.
Overall, more than 14,000 entries were considered across 19 categories and these have been narrowed down by the Judges to 114 finalists. Danilo will find out if we’ve won at the gala presentation evening at the Lancaster London Hotel on Thursday 8th October, so keep your fingers crossed for us! 🙂
